Nociceptive Pain and Neuropathic pain are two categories which describe the source of the physiological cause of a pain. When we say Nociceptive pain it can either be Somatic or Visceral in nature.
Somatic pain is due to an injury caused to a body part like a bone, joint or body tissue. Sprains, bumps, bruises and some types of inflammation due to infection or arthritis all fall under this category of pain also. Some obstructions and Myofascial pain due to muscle abnormalities is also under this category of pain.
